NEW DELHI: Biotechnology and nanotechnology are among five key technologies that have the maximum potential to stimulate growth in Indian manufacturing and also serve national security priorities, a new study said today.

Micro and nanoelectronics, photonics, and advanced materials are the other three areas identified by the new study, which expressed concern over the "abysmal" participation of the private sector in research and development.
Make in India: How could we be strategic?', the study by Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), a green think tank, identified "five key technologies as having the maximum potential to stimulate growth in Indian manufacturing -- biotechnology, nanotechnology, micro and nanoelectronics, photonics, and advanced materials".

The report has been released days after the introduction of the National Capital Goods Policy during the Make in India Week programme in Mumbai recently.  ..

India is among the fastest-growing pharmaceutical markets in the world and has established itself as a global manufacturing and research hub. A large raw material base and the availability of a skilled workforce gives the industry a definite competitive advantage. The Indian pharmaceutical industry is estimated to be worth US$ 26 billion. The industry is expected to reach US$ 45 billion by 2020 to become the sixth largest globally & by 2025 The Indian pharmaceutical industry is expected to touch US$ 100 billion. India exports to over 200 countries. The US is the largest importer of Indian products. Exports to the UK grew at 11.9 per cent between 2009 and 2010, and 2013 and 2014. India has the highest number of plants approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) outside the US. Around 584 Indian companies/sites are registered with the USFDA. Several plants have also obtained regulatory approvals from the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in the UK; the Medicines Control Council (MCC) in South Africa; and the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) in Australia. India has one of the lowest manufacturing cost in the world. Manufacturing cost in India is approximately 35–40 per cent of that in the US as installation and workforce costs are low. The growth in Indian domestic market will be on back of increasing consumer spending, rapid nisation, raising healthcare insurance and so on. Going forward, better growth in domestic sales will depend on the ability of companies to align their product portfolio towards chronic therapies for diseases such as such as cardiovascular, anti-diabetes, anti-depressants and anti-cancers are on the rise. Moreover, the government has been taking several cost effective measures in order to bring down healthcare expenses.

nt is focusing on speedy introduction of generic drugs into the market. This too will benefit Indian pharma companies. In addition, the thrust on rural health programmes, life saving drugs and preventive vaccines also augurs well for the pharma companies. The latest initiative is janaushadi Bhandar where patients can buy generic medicine at a very economical cost. This also will give an impetus to generic manufacturers.Cooper Pharma Limited
Cooper Pharma LimitedMale infertility is a relatively common condition caused by low sperm production, immobile sperm, or blockages that prevent the delivery of sperm. This condition can be caused by a variety of illnesses, injuries, chronic health problems, lifestyle choices, other factors, or idiopathic, in which abnormal semen parameters occur without an identifiable cause. Medical management traditionally focuses on correcting endocrine abnormalities related to hormone deficiencies. Clomiphene citrate is an ant estrogen thought to increase sperm parameters in males attempting to conceive. After the discovery that Clomiphene-citrate (Clomid) increased the secretion of gonadotropins, it was first used to induce ovulation and later on it was also used in males in certain cases of infertility. The effects of Clomid on the hypothalamic-pituitary level made it also possible to use it for a dynamic evaluation of the hypothalamic-pituitary gonadal axis in both females and males. Hormonal abnormalities as the primary cause of male infertility occur in some men presenting with low fertility.  A low testosterone can cause low sperm production and can cause problems with erections and ejaculation. Testosterone replacement is very important because it restores sperm production and significantly increases the quality of life. Synthetic testosterone replacement (shots or gels) should not be used. Clomiphene citrate, a steroid drug related to estrogen (female sex hormone), has both anti-estrogenic and estrogenic effects. In men with oligospermia (low sperm count), clomiphene has been used to increase gonadotropin secretion, which, in turn, may stimulate testosterone release and improve sperm output. Clomiphene usually is given in oral daily doses of 25-50 mg for a 6 to 9-month period
Cancer is a complex group of diseases with many possible causes. Some types of cancer run in certain families, but most cancers are not clearly linked to the genes we inherit from our parents.Cigarettes, cigars, and pipe tobacco are made from dried tobacco leaves. Other substances are added for flavor and to make smoking more pleasant. The smoke from these products is a complex mixture of chemicals produced by the burning of tobacco and its additives. Many of these cause cancer, heart and lung diseases. Being overweight or obese can have far-reaching health consequences, including raising your risk for certain types of cancer. Modern life  has led many people to eat more unhealthy foods, eat bigger food portions, and be less active. As a result,  people are obese or over weight. Some of the same health problems affecting obese adults can also affect obese children. These include heart disease risk factors such as high cholesterol levels and high blood pressure, as well as asthma,  type 2 diabetes, muscle and joint problems, and liver disease. Obese children and teens are also at higher risk for social and psychological problems, such as discrimination and poor self-esteem.
Hormones are natural substances made by glands in our bodies. The network of glands that make hormones is called the endocrine system. Hormones are carried in our bloodstream and act as messengers between one part of our body and another. They have lots of effects and one of these is controlling the growth and activity of certain cells and organs. Some cancers use these hormones to grow. Hormone therapy for cancer is the use of medicines to block the effects of hormones Hormone therapy is another form of systemic therapy. It is most often used as an adjuvant therapy to help reduce the risk of the cancer coming back after surgery, but  It is also used to treat cancer that has come back after treatment or has spread. Use of Hormones in breast & prostate cancer is quite effective. Some breast cancer cells need estrogen and/or progesterone (female hormones that are produced in the body) to grow. When these hormones attach to special proteins called hormone receptors, the cancer cells with these receptors grow.Hormone therapies slow or stop the growth of hormone receptor-positive tumors by preventing the cancer cells from getting the hormones they need to grow.
NANDROLONE DECANOATE is a steroid and is indicated for the management of the anemia of renal insufficiency and has been shown to increase hemoglobin and red cell mass. The kidneys normally produce the hormone erythropoietin, which stimulates the production of red blood cells in the bone marrow. People with chronic kidney disease often experience anemia, or a low red blood cell count, caused by inadequate production of erythropoietin. Therapy with Nandrolone Decanoate may help alleviate this condition, known as anemia of renal insufficiency.
Nandrolone Decanoate may stimulate the production of erythropoietin, leading to increased red blood cell production, explains the National Cancer Institute. In an October 2005 article published in the "European Journal of Clinical Investigation," Drs. Robert Deicher and Walter Hörl report that use of nandrolone decanoate proves beneficial for some male patients with anemia of renal insufficiency. The authors, however, advise against using the drug for female patients due to side effects. Among female patients, Nandrolone Decanoate may cause masculinizing side effects, such as increased body hair, disruption of the menstrual cycle, deepening of the voice and male-pattern hair loss.Nandrolone decanoate may cause serious side effects in the liver.

Nandrolone decanoate may cause serious side effects in the liver. The FDA-approved prescribing information warns that a condition known as peliosis hepatis may develop with use of nandrolone decanoate. Blood-filled cysts develop throughout the liver with peliosis hepatis. The cysts may rupture, causing severe and potentially life-threatening internal bleeding, reports "The Merck Manual for Healthcare Professionals." Although uncommon, patients with peliosis hepatis may develop liver failure.
The Indian pharmaceutical market till 1970's was very small.. Today, India has gained unprecedented importance and carved a niche for itself in the pharmaceutical domain. In fact, India has emerged as a big market for the pharmaceutical industry. In today's world, Indian pharmaceutical industry ranks 4th in terms of volume and 13th in terms of value. For example it might be anything like formulations, bulk drugs, generics, Novel Drug Delivery Systems, New Chemical Entities, or Biotechnology, etc. Indian companies are dominating in the marketplace which was traditionally manned by MNC's. Our export of for pharmaceutical formulations was negligible till 1970 but now Indian companies due to its quality and affordability rank very high in Europe and America.  Not only formulations but we are making unprecedented progress in the manufacturing of vaccines. We used to import all major vaccines some time back but now we are making all major vaccines in house. This has helped the country to save lives & cost. Of late we have developed H1N1 vaccines. This vaccine has helped us to contain swine flu virus. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institutes of Health, funded the scientists and the vaccine was developed. Cooper Pharma like Ranbaxy,Cipla etc too is one of the oldest companies in India.

Over prescription of drugs is highly rampant in India & world over. Doctors are too quick to prescribe drugs, and often give little thought to the side effects and non-drug alternatives. It has been found that doctors are influenced by continuous bombardments, advertisements by pharmaceutical companies & calling by Medical representatives. The rampant over prescription is more so in the segment of Antibiotics & G.I drugs. For any small infection high end antibiotics are prescribed which could have been treated by a low spectrum antibiotic leading to undesirable side effects. In india & perhaps the world over, is becoming very common which implies use of prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medications that the user is using them for reasons other than those indicated in the prescribing literature or on the box label. The abuse of these medications is a national issue but there is not strict regulation in place. We at Cooper Pharma follow medical ethics & pass on the verified information to the medical fraternity. We never insist use of our medicines where it is not required or where better options are available.
