Cancer is the second leading cause of death globally. According to a report published by the World Health Organization (WHO), there are currently 10 million new cases of cancer each year worldwide. According to WHO’s new estimates, one in every 10 Indians in India is likely to develop cancer throughout their lifetime and one in 15 people may die of cancer. This WHO report also reveals some shocking statistics related to cancer in India:

  • Each year 16 million cancer-related new cases are reported in India.
  • About 7,84,800 people die due to cancer.
